Project Description

This project aims to increase farm yield and diversification to enhance life conditions and the health of 300 families of Bolivian farmers and to improve their knowledge in order to ensure sustainable management of their lands and of natural resources. Activities include: (i) training on organic farming food security and sustainable management of lands and natural resources; (ii) establishment of a revolving seed fund; (iii) livestock vaccination drive; (iv) construction of terrace cultivation and soil containment barriers; (v) tree and fruit tree farming; and (vi) installation of improved stoves. Farming techniques taught take into account traditional customs and the project integrates equal participation of women and men. This is one of two parts of a project valued at $308 205. The first part has been completed.
