Project Description
This program involves implementation of nine projects in three sectors: i) health (Mozambique South Africa Tanzania and Uganda); ii) literacy and education (Belize Honduras and Guatemala); and iii) water management (Kenya and Ghana). Some activities include the following: i) improving community-based care for orphans and vulnerable children in Maputo; ii) establishing and supporting pre-schools and care centres for orphans in South Africa; iii) distributing insecticide-treated bed nets to boarding school students in Tanzania; iv) issuing micro-credit loans in Uganda; v) equipping schools in Belize with refurbished computers; vi) providing school supplies to impoverished children in Honduras; vii) building and reconditioning schools (classrooms washrooms and kitchens) in Guatemala; viii) building rainwater harvesting tanks in Kenya; and ix) installing borehole wells in Ghana.
