Project Description
This grant contributes to the planning and logistical coordination of the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement High Level Event scheduled on the margins of the 67th United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2012. The event is an opportunity for the SUN Lead Group to demonstrate progress of the movement and inspire continued high-level political engagement in nutrition. The event brings together approximately 400 people including representatives from SUN member states the United Nations multilateral agencies civil society and the private sector. This serves an opportunity to galvanize continued high-level political engagement in nutrition and action at the country-level by SUN Countries the donor community private sector UN and civil society to scale up efforts to fight under nutrition. This is critical given the impact that undernutrition can have on impeding development including reducing the potential of citizens to contribute to a productive economy.
