Project Description
With CIDA support World Vision is helping to meet the immediate humanitarian needs of internally displaced populations in the Gedo Region of south-western Somalia. Through its support to local health facilities establishment or rehabilitation of waterpoints and sanitation facilities and establishment of child friendly spaces World Vision is ensuring access to proper medical care safe water and adequate sanitation and protection for people who have been displaced by the drought and fighting in Somalia.
Expected Results
Expected Results Include: 26 000 drought and conflict-affected people have improved access to quality health care and nutrition support; 36 000 drought and conflict-affected people have improved access to adequate supplies of safe water; and physical security is improved for 4 250 children under seven years of age through access to child-friendly spaces. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
