Project Description

With CIDA Support UNHCR is addressing the basic needs of refugees and displaced populations in Chad. Activities focus on the management of displacement camps and the provision in cooperation with other humanitarian agencies of food water and sanitation medical support shelter and protection to camp residents.

Expected Results

Expected outputs include: protection and basic assistance is provided to 500 000 vulnerable displaced people in Chad; targeted displaced and refugee children under 12 months are provided with birth certificates; populations of concern to UNHCR are registered on an individual basis; and identified survivors of sexual violence are provided with material assistance and legal support. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
