Project Description
With CIDA support CARE Canada is addressing the emergency needs of vulnerable populations affected by both the food crisis and conflict in northern Mali. Cash transfers to 1 500 vulnerable households in the Mopti and Segou regions will enable these families to meet basic needs until the end of the lean season. Another 1 500 vulnerable households will be able to meet their basic needs as a result of the income generated through cash-for-work initiatives.
Expected Results
Expected outputs include: access to food is improved; health status is improved or maintained; and livelihoods and assets are protected. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
