Project Description

With CIDA support the Centre for International Studies and Cooperation is meeting the immediate needs of targeted vulnerable families in Tahoua and Keita Niger areas heavily affected by the food and nutrition crisis. Activities focus on: income generating initiatives including cash-for-work activities as well as cash transfers for vulnerable populations during the peak of the lean season; and the provision of seeds tools fertilizer and agricultural training to enable vulnerable families to plant off-season crops.

Expected Results

Expected outputs include: Female heads of households have access to alternative means of livelihood; vulnerable families have access to cash transfers during the height of the lean season; vulnerable families receive seeds tools fertilizer and agricultural training. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
