Project Description
With CIDA support CARE Canada is providing sanitation and hygiene services for families who were displaced following the 2010 earthquake and are now leaving the camps to move into transitional shelters that do not yet have access to latrines and showers. CARE Canada is constructing latrines hand-washing stations and showers for 5 970 people as well as setting-up community solid waste collection points and carrying-out hygiene awareness raising campaigns to benefit 25 000 people.
Expected Results
Expected outputs include: latrines hand-washing stations and showers constructed; solid waste collection points set-up; and hygiene awareness campaigns conducted The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
