Project Description
With CIDA support Oxfam-Québec is implementing a comprehensive water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) program for families leaving the camps to move into transitional shelters that do not yet have access to WASH. Project activities which will benefit some 28 000 people include: the construction of 1 100 latrines showers and hand-washing stations; the distribution of water filters; the rehabilitation of traditional water sources; and the setting up of WASH committees.
Expected Results
Expected outputs include: latrines hand-washing stations and showers constructed; family water filters distributed; traditional water sources rehabilitated; water sanitation and hygiene committees set-up; and water sanitation and hygiene awareness raising campaigns implemented. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
