Project Description
With CIDA support Médecins du Monde is addressing the basic needs of people affected by armed conflict in four municipalities of Meta Department Colombia. Project activities include: the establishment of 11 emergency mobile health clinics in four intervention sites to cover emergency medical care for 5 000 conflict-affected people; training on basic health issues their management and treatment; psychosocial support to 900 conflict-affected people; and training for 90 community leaders on the prevention of conflict.
Expected Results
Expected outputs include: improved primary medical care and psychological support for targeted populations increased vaccinations against common preventable diseases; training to reduce threats to personal security; and the provision of protection services guaranteed by international law for those affected by violence and displacement. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
