Project Description
With CIDA support Action Against Hunger is scaling up its emergency health water and sanitation programming in Nariño Department Colombia to maintain and improve the health status of 13 320 vulnerable persons in conflict-affected areas. Project activities include: the distribution of 1 800 household water tanks and filters; the rehabilitation of 3 collective water supply systems and 90 family water systems; the construction of 90 latrines and maintenance kits; and awareness campaigns on safe hygiene and sanitation practices in affected communities.
Expected Results
Expected outputs include: new water points constructed and damaged water sources rehabilitated; distribution of water filters tanks and construction of collective water systems; construction of latrines and maintenance kits and hygiene materials distributed; and training conducted on safe hygiene practices. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
