Project Description
With CIDA support Doctors without Borders is addressing the basic healthcare needs of vulnerable and violence-affected populations in the Central African Republic. Activities focus on the provision of emergency medical services as well as putting in place an epidemiological surveillance and preparedness system to improve the response capacity to outbreaks and medical emergencies.
Expected Results
Expected outputs include: the provision of reproductive health activities; emergency surgeries; managing acute malnutrition cases; managing war surgery cases and post-traumatic stress; vaccinations provided; screening and treatment of common and severe diseases (such as malaria HIV and tuberculosis); and medical and psychological treatment for victims of sexual violence. The expected intermediate outcome is: reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
