Development Initiatives - Global Humanitarian Assistance Programme 2012-2015

Development Initiatives’ Global Humanitarian Assistance (GHA) Programme is a proven leader in research analysis and reporting on the flow of resources for humanitarian assistance. With CIDA’s support GHA continues to work to improve informed decision-making and the efficiency effectiveness and coherence of humanitarian response by increasing access to reliable transparent and comprehensive data on humanitarian financing.

Outputs: Outputs include: the annual Global Humanitarian Assistance Report; country profiles; and reports on topical humanitarian issues such as the Consolidated Appeals Process (CAPs) and non-traditional humanitarian donors. Immediate Outcomes: Improved access to data and evidence-based information on humanitarian needs domestic capacity to respond international response and the modalities and mechanisms of response; increased support to users in application and use of the evidence base to make decisions on and evaluations of the effectiveness of resource allocations; increased user feedback on the availability of information its usefulness and its impact on humanitarian outcomes; and improvements in quality and quantity of data that supports the allocation and evaluation of resources for vulnerable populations.
