Project Description

With CIDA support Save the Children is meeting the immediate survival and income needs of over 9 500 conflict-affected people. The project will address the severe water and sanitation needs of conflict-affected communities by installing or rehabilitating water points and latrines as well as providing internally displaced persons and host communities with jerry cans water filters and hygiene kits. To ease the food insecurity situation among the most vulnerable cash grants and goats/sheep will be provided to female-headed households and conditional cash grants will be provided to farmers and vendors to restock seeds tools and livestock.

Expected Results

Expected outputs include: the provision of safe water and sanitation facilities through the rehabilitation of water points and latrines and the provision of hygiene kits; and cash grants and livestock provided for female-headed households and farmers. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
