Project Description
Over the course of 2010 a discussion between the World Health Organization (WHO) and its Member States that started by looking at the future of financing of the organization broadened into an examination of its role in global health and the changes required to fulfil that role more effectively. An ambitious reform agenda was initiated in 2011 which identified five areas of focus for managerial reform: (1) Organizational effectiveness alignment and efficiency; (2) Strengthening internal human resources policies and management; (3) Enhanced results-based planning management and accountability; (4) Strengthened financing of the organization through an increased proportion of predictable and sustainable funding; and (5) An improved strategic communications framework.
