Project Description
This grant represents Canada’s support for the review of the implementation of the 2007 Quadrennial Comprehensive Policy Review (QCPR) resolution of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly. The main purpose of the QCPR is to evaluate the effectiveness and the efficiency of the UN development system's support to the national efforts of developing countries. It focuses on areas such as the in-country coordination of UN organizations improved business practices and crosscutting issues including gender equality and capacity development. This comprehensive review to begin in 2011 informs the intergovernmental negotiations for a new QCPR resolution in 2012. Canada's support for the QCPR contributes to greater effectiveness and efficiency of the UN development system.
