Global Humanitarian Data Access - Development Initiatives 2011

In recent years efforts to improve the evidence-base for humanitarian decision-making and the transparency of humanitarian financing have made progress in many ways. However fundamental knowledge gaps remain in terms of the flow of resources for humanitarian assistance. As a result it is difficult to compare data build an aggregate picture of financing for a given situation or across crises and observe to what degree resources are being allocated on the basis of needs. Development Initiatives' Global Humanitarian Assistance Programme is a proven leader in research analysis and reporting on the flow of resources for humanitarian assistance. The project aims to improve informed decision-making and the efficiency effectiveness and coherence of humanitarian response by increasing access to reliable transparent and understandable data on humanitarian financing.
