Project Description
5 January 2011 - Pakistan recently experienced the worst monsoon flooding in its history. At its height over 20 million people were affected and over 7 million people were made homeless by the flooding. While most of the flood-affected people have returned to their home areas approximately 14 million people still require humanitarian assistance to meet their basic needs and to begin the process of resuming their normal lives. CIDA is supporting Action Against Hunger (ACF) to provide water sanitation and hygiene emergency and early recovery assistance to 30 000 flood-affected people in southern Sindh Province. The project is helping to improve water and sanitation access for the most vulnerable populations affected by the floods in displaced persons camps host communities and areas of return.
