OHCHR - Institutional Support 2010

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is mandated to promote and protect the enjoyment and full realization by all people of all rights established in the Charter of the United Nations and international human rights laws and treaties. OHCHR is responsible for the implementation of human rights mechanisms on the ground and injecting a human rights perspective into all UN programs. CIDA's support to the OHCHR assists the organization to promote international cooperation to protect human rights to prevent human rights violations and to strengthen and streamline human rights throughout the United Nations system.
