Project Description
Instability in the Equateur Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo has led to the flight of the local population living on the Oubangui River to the neighbouring Republic of Congo. Refugees have spread over several localities on the Republic of the Congo side of the Oubangui River between Impfondo Dongou and Betou some in very dire conditions. CIDA's contribution is helping to stabilize acute malnutrition and mortality amongst refugees internally displaced peoples and other vulnerable groups and communities. The operation also relieves pressure placed on the local population and correspondingly reduces the likelihood of the food security situation deteriorating further.
