Project Description
The deterioration of the humanitarian situation in a variety of countries across Asia has resulted in increased needs of displaced and conflict-affected individuals as well as an increased burden on local health facilities and local providers of humanitarian assistance. CIDA's contribution is supporting the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to help meet the immediate clean water shelter medical care and material needs of displaced populations and the resident communities sheltering them. Activities also include providing hospitals with supplies technical support management training and supervision; supporting hospital blood banks and transfusion services; training hospital staff in war and clinical surgery; and providing assistance in the overall maintenance of hospital facilities.
