Emergency Food Assistance in Sudan - World Food Programme 2010

Sudan continues to face a series of humanitarian challenges - in the western region of Darfur over two million people have been displaced by a conflict that broke out in 2003 South Sudan is recovering from two decades of civil war and eastern Sudan suffers from chronic food insecurity and sporadic conflict. This has left much of Sudan food-insecure and dependent on food aid. Through this operation WFP aims to provide food assistance to 6.4 million vulnerable people in Sudan in 2010.
