Project Description

October 6 2009 - Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines on September 26 causing massive destruction and flooding in Manila and other areas. As of October 6 an estimated 3.9 million people have been affected while 295 are dead and 39 missing. This project allows World Vision Canada to meet the basic needs of the affected population and maintain the health shelter and physical security of the affected population by providing non-food items including shelter and household items to support 6 000 households for a period of four months. Distribution is carried out in metro Manila.
