Project Description
October 5 2009 - Typhoon Ketsana hit the Philippines on September 26 bringing massive destruction and causing floods in Manila and other areas. An estimated 3.2 million people have been affected. The Government of the Philippines has requested international assistance in responding to this disaster. This project allows the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in partnership with the Philippine National Red Cross Society (PNRC) to provide assistance to 100 000 people (20 000 families) in disaster-affected areas though immediate relief distribution of non-food items water and sanitation interventions and health and medical provisions and services.
