CIDA's contribution is used to help the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) supply 10 000 affected households with essential household items and food rations for one month and to install or enhance water and sanitation facilities for up to 50 000 internally displaced persons. In addition basic medical services for the displaced is reinforced through the provision of surgical and medical materials technical support and on-the-job training by the ICRC and their surgical teams.
