Project Description
Following unusually heavy monsoonal rains the Koshi River in Nepal breached a mud embankment which subsequently led the river to change its course inundating hundreds of villages in Nepal and further downstream in India. It is estimated that up to 107 000 people have been affected by the flooding in Nepal with more than 50 000 displaced and in need of shelter and basic humanitarian assistance. UNICEF provides 10 000 of the most vulnerable families with shelter nutrition safe water sanitation facilities and items for proper hygiene.
