Project Description

The proposed project aims to improve access to under-serviced vulnerable communities through the upgrading of as many as 15 existing boreholes through the siting and support for the installation of boreholes with submersible pumps and overhead tanks and the provision of rainwater harvesting systems in up to 5 schools with poor access to water. To improve awareness of safe water sources storage and treatment a community education campaign is conducted to reach targeted water users. Additionally 1 000 vulnerable households caring for chronically ill individuals are supported with training and hygiene kits building upon the existing nutrition support program for chronically ill individuals accessing treatment through urban clinics
