Democratic Republic of Congo Integrated Health - Oxfam-Québec 2008

It is estimated that some 1.3 million people remain displaced in the country; this includes 500 000 who have fled their homes in eastern DRC within the last year. The proposed project targets 4 health zones in eastern DRC with significant humanitarian needs due to the armed conflict displacement and the breakdown of state structures. The project contributes to the reduction of water sanitation and hygiene-related diseases in areas with large displaced and returnee populations. Activities include the provision of latrines for primary schools and improvement of water sources for health centers.
