Project Description
This grant represents Canada’s annual institutional support to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Development Assistance Committee (DAC). OECD-DAC uses these funds along with other donors’ funding to achieve its mandate. OECD-DAC’s mandate is to promote development co-operation and other policies so as to contribute to sustainable development including pro-poor economic growth poverty reduction improvement of living standards in developing countries and a future in which no country will depend on aid. Canada’s funding to OECD-DAC supports the activities of the OECD-DAC 2015-2016 Program of Work and Budget.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes as detailed in the OECD-DAC 2015-2016 Programme of Work and Budget include: (1) improved data on the modernized measurement of Official Development Assistance (ODA); (2) enhanced understanding of how development cooperation can leverage private sector financing for development; (3) increased capacity of developing countries to mobilise domestic resources for development finance; (4) enhanced accountability of development cooperation through strengthened statistical systems in developing countries; and (5) more effective development partnerships to deliver the Post-2015 framework.
