Project Description

This project supports the organization of a high-level roundtable discussion to explore innovative technology and private sector partnerships to improve health and save the lives of women and children. This roundtable organized by the Center for Global Health and Diplomacy (GHD) is taking place in Ottawa on November 19 2014. Its lessons and findings will be shared with GHD’s partners in 42 countries as well as the international donor community participating in the World Economic Forum and the World Health Assembly. This project is part of Canada’s maternal newborn and child health commitment.

Expected Results

The expected intermediate outcomes for this project include: (1) the publication of a special features issue of the Global Health and Diplomacy magazine on the private sector’s efforts to improve global health to be presented in January 2015 at the World Economic Forum’s meeting in Davos; and (2) the publication of a white paper with final recommendations and next steps on the role of the private sector within the new global health architecture to be presented at the World Health Assembly in May 2015.
