Support to Basic Education in Burkina Faso

The initiative aims to improve the accessibility and quality of education for all young people of Burkina Faso aged 6 to16 years of age. It supports the Ministry of National Education and Literacy in the implementation of the second Strategic Development Basic Education Plan (2014-2016). Project activities include: 1) building schools and classes teacher training and supporting the development of primary and post-primary education programs; and 2) strengthening administrative and financial capacities of the Ministry of National Education and Literacy of Burkina Faso.

The expected intermediate outcomes for this project include: 1) service delivery in basic education of better quality which ensures parity between girls and boys in primary and post-primary; and 2) more effective control and management practices of the basic education system.
