Project Description
This project supports the Programme international de formation en evaluation du développement (PIFED) a four-week executive training program in development education for evaluators from French speaking developing countries. PIFED aims to improve the measurement monitoring and evaluation of development assistance and to build the foundations for more transparent and accountable governance as well as for improved development effectiveness. It provides managers and practitioners with the generic tools they require to evaluate development policies programs and projects at local national regional and global levels. This project provides annual scholarships for evaluation professionals from francophone developing countries; develops online teaching tools for participants; and supports the development of a train-the-trainer regional workshop in a francophone development country. PIFED is managed by the École nationale d’administration publique (ENAP) in Québec City. A similar program the International Program for Development Education Training (IPDET) is managed jointly by Carleton University and the World Bank Group’s Independent Evaluation Group.
Expected Results
The expected intermediate outcome for this project is to strengthen the institutional capacity of organizations in francophone developing countries to deliver development evaluations conducted by PIFED trained evaluators.
