Project Description
This project aims to increase the engagement and support of Canadians for Canada’s international humanitarian assistance efforts so that lives can be saved suffering alleviated and human dignity maintained in countries experiencing humanitarian crisis or that are food insecure. The project supports the Canadian Red Cross (CRC) in scaling up its communications and engagement activities to targeted Canadian individuals and institutions including students young professionals and the humanitarian community. Some project activities include: (1) using greater media outreach to highlight the results of Canadian contributions in countries experiencing humanitarian crises; (2) providing more educational and professional development opportunities on priority issues including silent emergencies the principle of neutral impartial and independent humanitarian action and health; and (3) building a network of Canadians who work to increase awareness and engagement on international humanitarian assistance by championing it in their online and offline networks.
Expected Results
The expected intermediate outcome of this project includes: increased engagement of targeted Canadians and Canadian institutions in activities that support humanitarian assistance.
