Project Description
March 2013 - Over the last two years the conflict in Syria has escalated and triggered refugee flows across the region. Hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees have fled to Lebanon and require humanitarian assistance. With CIDA support World Vision Canada is assisting 3 750 non-registered Syrian refugees in South Lebanon with cash assistance to cover their basic food needs raise hygiene awareness and ensure access to clean drinking water through distribution of water filters. This project addresses the gap in support to unregistered Syrian refugees.
Expected Results
The expected outputs for this project include: improving the livelihoods of Syrian refugees; and increasing health awareness improving hygiene conditions of refugee households and reducing their vulnerability to diseases. The expected intermediate outcome is reduced vulnerability of crisis-affected people especially women and children.
