Every five years at the request of the Government of Haiti and with the support of technical and financial partners the Haitian Childhood Institute undertakes a national EMMUS survey across all departments of the country. EMMUS is designed to sample more than 10 000 households to obtain an estimate of the level of and changes in socio-economic demographic and health-related indicators for the entire population. This survey is the main source of reliable data on health in Haiti and is recognized by the Ministry of Public Health and Population of Haiti and the international community including Canada. The survey was conducted in 2016 and the report is expected to be published in 2017.
