Project Description
Canada's Multilateral Elections Observation Program (MEOP) is an initiative that supported the involvement of Canadian election observers in election observation missions in targeted countries. Supported missions were hosted by different organizations such as the European Union the Organization of American States the Commonwealth Secretariat and international non-governmental organizations including the Carter Center. Foreign Affairs Trade and Development Canada has also worked closely with CANADEM in the Program implementation. An external evaluation is currently undertaken to assess the efficiency of the Program and to draw lessons learned from this initiative. The Firm PLAN: NET Limited has been selected to undertake this evaluation. For administrative reasons sometimes the funds identified for this purpose are included in the main project budget and sometimes as in this case they are assigned a separate project number.
Expected Results
Although initiatives such as these serve as important mechanisms to support the effective delivery of Canada’s development assistance no direct development outcomes are attributable to them.
