Project Description
The goal of this project is to help the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) of Mali to develop ways to address key short-term issues and challenges. Specific objectives of the project are as follows : to help the OAG to develop recognized appropriate audit standards and professional ethics; to provide the OAG with strategic planning advice and support; to help the OAG in its current reorganization of human resources; and to support the OAG in strengthening its internal and external communication capacities. Wherever possible the short-term support plan considers the issue of equality between women and men. Where appropriate the plan integrates results specific to this dimension.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved at the end of the project in 2010-2011 include the following. As a result of ad hoc support provided to the Office of the Auditor General of Mali (BVGM) BVGM auditors were trained to prepare documentation to substantiate cases of fraud. They were also trained to plan and deliver basic training for BVGM auditors in performance auditing. Finally they were trained to develop an administrative and financial procedures manual for BVGM.
