South Africa Human Resources for Health Improvement

This project ended ahead of schedule for administrative reasons. The project aims to improve the provision of health services and to address problems relating to equity services access the transfer of services from the public sector to the private sector the emigration of health practioners and the impact HIV/AIDS has on human resources in the heath sector. To this end the project is designed to assist the Human Resources Department of South Africa's Department of Health by strengthening its policy planning management and administration capacities relating to human resources in the public health sector.
