Project Description
The main objective of this sub-project of the Knowledge for Development Fund is to help Kenyan officials to be better prepared for disasters and to promote approaches that make the dividends of humanitarian work more sustainable. The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) seeks to support Kenya’s Ministry of State for special programmes as well as county and district governments as they build their coordination mechanisms for disaster preparedness and share best practices in disaster risk reduction and early recovery from disasters.
Expected Results
Expected outputs/activities include: improved efficiency in the implementation of early recovery projects; training and recruitment of two national staff for the National Early Recovery cluster; capacity-building of the Ministry of State for Special Programs in disaster risk reduction and early recovery initiatives.
