Project Description
The World Bank-managed Education Public Expenditure Tracking Survey (PETS) identifies flows of funds in Kenya’s education sector with a view to improve management of education resources and learning outcomes. The Government of Kenya has specifically requested support for this sectoral analysis which provides a comprehensive data collection and analysis of government expenditures in the education sector. Deliverables include an exhaustive inventory of the sources and flow of funds in the education sector (including central government local government and constituency funds and development partner support) as well as an analysis of their actual impact in improving front-line services in education
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of May 2012 include: A pilot study of the Orphans and Vulnerable Children grant program has been carried out completed and shared with partners. A consultancy firm has been competitively selected to undertake the full Education Public Expenditure Tracking Survey. The detailed methodology sampling of schools and survey tools have been finalized.
