Project Description
The Tanzania Aid Effectiveness Project (TAEP) provides a mechanism for CIDA to deliver program-level advisory services and support coordination and knowledge-building activities in order to achieve greater aid effectiveness in Tanzania. CIDA uses this mechanism to provide long-term advisory services to contribute to joint reviews and studies and to provide targeted technical assistance or support for Tanzanian government- or civil society-led activities related to CIDA's priority sectors. The total value of the TAEP is $5 million implemented through two components: TAEP-II supports activities managed by international organizations and TAEP-I supports all other activities.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project (March 2012) include: providing program advisors based in Tanzania and strengthening the Development Partners Group Secretariat to assist it in harmonising and coordinating donor activities and interactions with the Government of Tanzania. The project also supported various knowledge-building events in Tanzania. These investments are helping CIDA to increase the alignment of its aid portfolio with Tanzanian country priorities and increasing the understanding of the Government of Tanzania of development and aid effectiveness particularly in ClDA programming areas.
