Project Description

This project supports the institutional reform of the Central Bank and contributes to building its capacity as the controller and regulator of the finance and microfinance sector. The project focuses on three components: strengthening the strategic management capacity of upper management strengthening human resource management and strengthening surveillance of the microfinance sector.

Progress & Results Achieved

Results achieved as of March 2012: the project provided support to the Central Bank of Congo in the implementation of reforms enabling a culture of result-based management decentralisation of decision-making processes and a culture supporting equality between women and men. Additionally the project has provided support to the Central Bank of Congo in strengthening the micro-finance sector by implementing a transparent and rigorous regulatory framework.
