Project Description
The objectives of this project are to contribute to the reduction of poverty in a sustainable way by supporting local governance and by increasing agricultural productivity while respecting the environment. Through environmental rehabilitation activities and by improving infrastructures the goal of this project is to consolidate local development and governance actions undertaken in 4 communities and extend these to an additional 4 of the Nord-Est Departement in Haiti. The project aims to improve the living conditions of the population living in these four communities of the Nord-Est Department supported by the UNDP/UNCDF since 2000. By consolidating these actions a stronger more durable process will be enabled and the capacity of local actors will be strengthened in participative planning and good governance through the restoration and appreciation of the environment in the production zones economic diversification and improvement of basic infrastructures.
