Project Description
The Local Fund Management Centre administers and coordinates all of CIDA's local funds in Haiti. Governed by an agreement between Canada and Haiti's Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation the Centre was created in 2003 to respond to the needs of local communities as they arise. It has acquired knowledge of the local environment that enables informed risk management when responding to crisis situations. In addition to managing CIDA’s local funds the Local Fund Management Centre engages in building the capacity of Haitian organizations networking and knowledge sharing.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project (June 2010) include: The Local Fund Management Centre ensured sound management of nine local funds. It issued requests for proposals received and assessed proposals from civil society organizations and State institutions and evaluated selected and monitored 91 sub-projects. The Centre supported the various executing organizations to ensure that expected results were achieved.
