Project Description

This project represents Canada's contribution to a trust fund that helps the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in the implementation of a system for aid harmonization and coordination managed by Rwanda's Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN). A joint UNDP/MINECOFIN team supports the development of a national framework on aid harmonization and coordination and strengthens the framework for donors involved in direct budget support. A website is created to publicize and enable better coordination of donor activity and to support the creation of a range of mechanisms for aid alignment review monitoring and coordination. The overall benefit of this initiative is that it enables the Government of Rwanda to manage oversee and harmonize aid at lower cost allowing future projects to have a more powerful impact on their intended beneficiaries.
