Project Description
This initiative aims to improve the collection analysis and dissemination of labour market information in order to contribute to making the Jordanian workplace more transparent. The project's purpose is to ensure that labour market decision-making by institutions employers and prospective employees (men and women) are made on the basis of comprehensive timely and regularly updated gender-sensitive information systems that are supported by continuous technical and internet-based services.
Progress & Results Achieved
Results achieved as of the end of the project include: The establishment of a Human Resources Information system which will be the basis for good evidence-based decision-making by the Government of Jordan. The Electronic Labour Exchange system which provides electronic employment services by linking employers with job seekers was franchised to a digital private sector employment agency. The Professional Career Counselling component has ensured the strategic coordination of career counselling programs at the national level through a Career Guidance Working Group which was established by the project. In addition career-related resources and manuals were developed and are supporting higher education institutions counsellors and students online and through 12 career counselling centers in universities around the Kingdom of Jordan.
