Project Description

The goal of this project is to enable the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation of Manitoba to work with the Cabécar Indigenous communities of the Integrated Development Association of Chirripó. The project aims to help build the organisational and technical capacity of the Cabécar association to successfully develop an eco-tourism component for their community strategic plan while promoting community-to-community learning and the sharing of indigenous experiences and values. This project is funded through the Indigenous Peoples Partnership Program (IPPP) a pilot program that supports the development priorities of Indigenous peoples in the Latin America and Caribbean region. The IPPP supports initiatives conceived both by Indigenous organizations in that region and by their Canadian Aboriginal partners. The partnerships created through the IPPP contribute to the sustainable development of Indigenous peoples in Latin America and the Caribbean through an exchange of knowledge experience expertise and existing models.
