Project Description

The project works to improve the participation and partnership of civil society and the Egyptian government in furthering the social economic cultural civil and political development of marginalized groups and especially of children in these groups.

Progress & Results Achieved

Results as of the project’s conclusion on March 31 2011: The project has supported 874 staff (492 female 382 male) of 19 Egyptian civil society organizations promoting child protection and development with a particular focus on disabled children. This has been accomplished through the provision of 86 targeted training sessions focused on participatory development skills internal governance skills and project management skills. As well the project has provided financial support for community service activities identified by the organizations. As a result the supported organizations have seen marked improvement in their capacity to apply more participatory approaches with their constituencies.
