Project Description
This project aims to improve the socio-economic well-being of women military veterans in Ukraine as they transition to civilian life. It strengthens the capacity of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs (MVA) and the State Employment Service (SES) to deliver gender-sensitive inclusive and effective employment and self-employment services. The project directly benefits up to 30 000 women veterans and indirectly benefit 6 000 household members. Project activities include: (1) building the capacity of MVA and SES staff through gender-sensitive training leadership development and mental health support; (2) improving SES vocational training centres’ ability to deliver demand-driven inclusive skills development and entrepreneurship programs; and (3) enhancing access to career guidance job placement and business development services tailored to women veterans. The project also supports the development of gender-sensitive labour market analysis recognition of prior learning and inclusive teaching methodologies. It is implemented in regions with high concentrations of veterans including Dnipropetrovsk Kyiv and Vinnytsia with training activities in Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) increased effectiveness of the MVA and SES to deliver programs and services to women military veterans towards wage employment and self-employment; and (2) enhanced employment and self-employment skills development programs and services for women veterans.
