Project Description
Pakistan is continuing its flood recovery efforts in response to the 2022 devastating floods that impacted the lives of over 33 million across the country. This project aims to respond to critical challenges caused or exacerbated by the 2022 floods while strengthening resilience to climate change and shocks for flood affected and at-risk communities. The project also aims to strengthen proactive mitigation and gender-responsive disaster preparedness and recovery accelerate resilient access to and provision of essential basic services and promote access to assets and strategies critical to the resumption and resilience of livelihoods particularly for women and girls in flood affected communities. The project is aligned with the Government of Pakistan’s “Resilient Recovery Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Framework”.
Expected Results
The expected outcomes of this project include: (1) strengthened gender-responsive disaster preparedness and recovery of flood affected communities in Pakistan including the delivery of essential services such as health and education for women and girls; and (2) improved recovery of livelihoods agriculture and food security in flood affected communities in Pakistan particularly for women and girls.
